TOS has become a leading organization for oceanographic professionals, and our impact on scientists, educators and decision-makers is stronger now than ever. However, we cannot rely exclusively on membership to continue to prosper.

In recognition of our twentieth anniversary, we are asking members to consider making additional contributions over and above annual membership dues to further advance the TOS mission: promoting the importance and excitement of oceanography. With your help we will cultivate the next generation of ocean scientists through subsidized memberships in the Society. And, we will be able to support novel projects (such as career and mentoring resources) and additional features in Oceanography magazine.

In appreciation for your tax-deductible donation, your name will be listed in Oceanography, as well as on the TOS Web site, and you will receive the following gifts:

> Pioneer Level ($250): $50 online gift store credit
> Legend Level ($500): $75 online gift store credit

After your donation has been received, TOS will send you a gift certificate via e-mail for use in ordering TOS logo items at www.cafepress.com/oceanography. You will also receive a letter via regular mail detailing the tax-deductibility of your donation. In the U.S., the amount of the tax deduction available is determined by subtracting the value of the gift certificate from the total payment. Please consult IRS Publication 526 for details.
