The Bermuda Biological Station for Research (BBSRI was established in 1903 and since then has been carrying out longterm research on the ocean and atmosphere. In response m the more recent societal interests in the interaction between environmental changes and society, the BBSR established the Atlantic Global Change Institute (AGCI) to look at the human dimensions of climate change.
